Education board management on Mithaq

School boards, university trustees, training institute councils.

What a education board is accountable for

An education board governs an institution whose primary stakeholders cannot vote: students, and in schools, minors. That asymmetry is why safeguarding, admissions fairness and fee policy are board matters rather than management matters.

What recurs on the agenda

  1. 01Accreditation cycle: the self-study, the visiting-panel findings, and the closure of each finding
  2. 02Safeguarding policy, incident reporting and the register of who has been trained and when
  3. 03Fee schedule approval and the hardship or scholarship provision that accompanies it
  4. 04Senior academic appointments and the conflict declarations attached to them
  5. 05Curriculum or programme approval, and its alignment with the national qualifications framework
Accreditation panels ask for the minute in which a finding was accepted and the minute in which it was closed. The gap between those two dates is the finding.
